Our school offers a nourishing environment that induces the child's curiosity to learn. Our program curriculum is integrated with hands-on learning activities designed to fulfill a child's thirst for knowledge. We want our students to come to school to attain that sense of satisfaction and joy.   The Kindergarten & First Grade program is offered through the Trust Primary School.

Language Arts

We use phonics and literature to develop student's reading skills. Students learn to decode and sound out increasingly difficult words while developing phonics and phonemic awareness.

Math

Designed to provide a transition from the child's real life experiences to understanding basic mathematical concepts. General topics include: symbols, counting, number formation, shape recognition, fractions, measurement, problem solving, multiple digit numbers, and telling time and coin value.

Visual Arts

Students develop their creativity and artistic skills through a variety of mediums:

  • Directed Art - A step-by-step guide to art. Components of the curriculum include an introduction to the elements of art and design concepts such as line, pattern, texture, positive and negative shape, color mixing, etc.
  • Open-Ended Art - To release the child's creativity in the pure pleasure of making art.
  • Crafts - Working with instructions, students create development-appropriate crafts.
  • Artist of the Month - Students learn all about the artist. After a month-long study, students then create their own interpretation of the artist's work.

Science

The program focuses on extending children's natural curiosity about the world in which they live through the following topics: animal habitats, magnetism, weather and changing seasons, health, endangered species, environmental awareness, five senses, plant life, insects, and the solar system.

Social Studies

As children grow, so as their awareness of the world and their place in it. The social studies curriculum supports that growth and development by gradually extending the parameters of the study, focusing on both the cultural and historical aspects of the individual and society.

Music & Performing Arts

Music, movements and songs are parts of our program. Students learn about different musical instruments; they also explore musical concepts such as pitch and rhythm through singing, playing, and listening to music.
  • Composer of the Month - Students learn all about a famous composer.
